Work placement

The Centre for Contemporary Hospitality and Tourism offers opportunities for internships, volunteering and placements. Our hands-on approach to study will ensure you're ready for the world of work.

Placement opportunities

To help develop your learning and build your experience, our courses have a work placement option as part of the programme of study.

A placement is carried out in a real working environment where you are expected to make a positive contribution to the work of the company or organisation. This can be a rewarding experience for both you and the employer.

You can choose to take a paid year in industry between the second and third years of your degree. If you do, you will complete your degree over four years rather than three. A year's placement will give you an in-depth understanding of working in industry, a much improved CV, and sometimes even a job offer at the end of it. You can also complete shorter placements or internships, either during your holidays or part-time while you study.
