What is Time 2 Innovate?

The Institute for Innovation in Sustainable Engineering (IISE) offers a range of free technical engineering services for eligible SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) under the Time 2 Innovate programme.

SMEs within the D2N2 (Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire local enterprise partnership) zone who seek to innovate new products and processes can access certain services at no cost under the European-funded programme Enabling Innovation's Time 2 Innovate.

The free service offerings to eligible SMEs include:

Product design and development service

This covers market research, computer-aided design (CAD) using Solidworks, computer-aided engineering (CAE) digital performance simulation, product prototyping (scaled 3D-printed models in plastics and metals), mechanical testing of materials and components and a scanning electron microscope with element composition analysis.

Manufacturing process service

This covers design for manufacture, CAD/CAM (computer-aided manufacturing) software, inspection and reverse engineering using Polyworks software and a FARO scanning arm, 4-axis EDM wire cut, multi-material 3D printing in photo-cure polymers and metal-based additive manufacturing, 5-axis CNC machine tools, in-process inspection using the Renishaw Equator.
