PMOS Across the Lifespan

Dr Sophie Williams (CPsychol) and the University of Derby Women and Allies Network, invite you to join us at University of Derby Kedleston Road campus to celebrate Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS) Awareness Month on 16th September 2026 at 6.00pm, at our Kedleston Road campus.

Previously known as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), PMOS is a long-term women's health condition which impacts individuals across the lifespan and can include both metabolic and reproductive symptoms. This public workshop will seek to empower women and individuals with PMOS to understand more about their condition and to develop knowledge and awareness for those who wish to know more about PMOS.

The event will start with a brief discussion about what PMOS is, why the name changed from PCOS, and summarise the position of PMOS in society. We'll also highlight our research at the University of Derby currently exploring PMOS and what we've found. The event will then hold time for a question-and-answer portion; giving you the opportunity to ask questions you may have about PMOS, and our research. Finally, all attendees will be invited to engage in determining the next steps of our research and given the opportunity to help refine and design our next research projects.

This event is delivered by Dr Sophie Williams, Chartered Psychologist, an expert researcher exploring the psychological impact of PMOS across the lifespan.
