New arrival at the University of Derby

Dr David Russell has been appointed as the new Dean of the College of Business at the University of Derby.

He joins Derby from Leicester’s De Montfort University where he is currently Deputy Dean in the Faculty of Business and Law.

Dr Russell, who is a Doctor of Business Administration, has taught largely in the areas of cost accounting, management accounting, decision management, performance appraisal and financial reporting. He previously held the post of Head of Accounting and Finance.

Professor Margaret Bruce, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, at the University said: “We are delighted to welcome Dr Russell to the University of Derby. With him leading the College we hope to fulfil our ambition and aspirations as a prominent international business College.

“Dr Russell is a thought leader in his field and his current research is with the top 200 businesses across the region to identify and transfer best practice to drive growth.”
