Inseparable sisters graduate together

Two sisters who immersed themselves in University life have graduated from the University of Derby’s Award Ceremonies this week.

Brittany, 22, and Rachel Dixon, 23, grasped every aspect of university life from being subject ambassadors, to taking part in networking evenings and joining a range of clubs, including snow sports club and badminton.

Brittany, who graduated with a BA (Hons) in Business Management, today said: “I thoroughly enjoyed studying at the University of Derby, the staff made studying enjoyable and my undergraduate degree was a fantastic experience. My time at Derby has enabled me to further develop my business knowledge and skills.

“The whole experience has been amazing, coupled with the fact I have enjoyed it with my sister.We have studied, lived and socialised together throughout our degree so it’s the icing on the cake to have graduated together.”

Brittany also received two additional awards at graduation, including: The Chartered Management Institute (CMI) for Best Performing Business Management student and the Vice-Chancellor’s Prize for Academic Excellence Best Undergraduate Performance in the College of Business.

Rachel, who graduated with LLB (Hons), added: “The degree gave meinvaluable knowledge from some of the key legal professionals and have a clearer understanding of the legal industry. Derby has provided me with a strong foundation to build upon and further my legal career.”

Rachel is now continuing her studies on the LPC (Legal Practice Course) at the University of Derby, to enable her to further qualify as a legal professional.

While studying together, the sisters were also on the first ladies badminton team together and were part of the team when they won the British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) league.
