Perspectives from authentic voices - Online Learning Summit

The University of Derby Online Learning is hosting an Online Learning summit titled 'Rethinking the Online Paradigm: Perspectives from authentic voices', on 9 April 2019 at the Enterprise Centre.

The event will bring together a community of experts, researchers, practitioners and students from worldwide with the aim of creating a space for authentic conversations around online learning. Taking an active learning approach, the summit will open conversations around teaching online learners, student experience and leading online learning. The event is open to those supporting online learning and who help to provide the online learning experience.

The event will feature panels, world café idea bursts and networking through which participants who actively work and participate in creating online learning opportunities will be able to contribute their valuable thoughts, ideas and experiences all in the name of shaping the future of online learning.

Hosted in the University of Derby Online Learning's own Enterprise Centre the delegates will hear from keynote speakers Paula Shaw, National Teaching fellow and Academic Manager at the University of Derby Online Learning, and Professor Gilly Salmon, Academic Director at the Online Education Services (OES).

Paula Shaw said of the event: "This is THE place for Thought Leaders in online learning to congregate, share and shape the future, we can learn so much from each other and ultimately it is our students that will benefit."

The day, which will also include exhibitors from partners of the University of Derby Online Learning and those supporting online learning who help to provide the online learning experience, will provide networking opportunities allowing delegates to continue conversations initiated through the conference sessions.

There will be valuable panels which are led by and include experts in the field. The panels will cover:
