Students invited to explore new industry-focused courses at Chesterfield Open Event

Prospective students are being invited to explore a range of new industry-focused courses launching in Chesterfield at an upcoming event.

The new programmes, starting at the University of Derby’s Chesterfield campus from September 2026, cover subjects including sport, business, and nursing, offering flexible, career-focused pathways into employment and professional progression. All programmes come with guaranteed work experience included.

Visitors can find out more at the Open Event, taking place on Wednesday 17 June at the University’s Grade II-listed St Helena site. The event will give visitors the opportunity to meet academic experts, explore the facilities and learn more about student life in Chesterfield.

Those who already have their grades, or predicted grades, and meet the entry requirements of the University of Derby, may also be able to receive an offer in principle on the day.

Attendees will also be able to find out more about the University’s strategic partnership agreement with Chesterfield Football Club, set to create a range of learning opportunities for students.

Through the collaboration, September 2026 students will have access to work placements at the club, live industry projects and behind-the-scenes experience within a professional football environment.

Students will also benefit from direct routes to opportunities linked to the club, further strengthening the connection between education and industry.
