About

I am the Programme Lead for MSc Business Analytics in Derby International Business School. I primarily teach analytics related modules including statistics, operations & business intelligence. I am also the Subject Pathway lead for Analytics and Technology on the Business Management programme.

In my teaching, I emphasise real-world applications of analytical techniques and technologies including tools such SAP S/4HANA and Simul8 to equip students with practical skills they can apply in industry.

My aim is to ensure students are able to make meaningful analytical contributions to business and industry decision-making upon graduation. 

Teaching responsibilities

Primarily teaching Level 7 MSc Business Analytics modules including Business Statistics & Visualisation and Operation Analytics & SAP. In addition I teach Business Intelligence to Level 5 undergraduate students. 

Professional interests

Have worked as an Analyst for 10 years, I am interested in understanding how analytics and data analysis can support effective decision-making in organisations across the public, private and voluntary sectors. I also enjoy applying quantitative techniques in data analysis. 

Research interests

My research interests include business analytics, quantitative analysis and the use of data-driven methods to enhance teaching, learning and decision-making in business contexts.

Experience in industry

I have ten years experience as a business analyst applying analytics to real-world business problems and supporting data-driven decision-making across operational and strategic settings. I have worked with organisations to implement analytical tools and techniques that improve efficiency, performance and produce actionable insights. Alongside my academic role I have continued to work with industry to support improvements in efficiency and performance. 

International experience

International teaching, student recruitment and collaborative project experience across Asia, Middle East and Europe, including online partnerships and overseas student field trips. I have taught undergraduate and postgraduate students in Hong Kong and Oman. I have also developed and delivered international online projects with partners in Indonesia and supported recruitment activities across India. In addition, I have organised and led student field trips to Mumbai, Lyon and Hong Kong

Additional interests and activities

I enjoy travel and photography as well as meeting people from across the world. I have practised Tai Chi for a number of years and now also enjoy yoga.
