About

I am a Senior Lecturer in the School of Nursing and Professional Practice. I work across the Mental Health Nursing programmes, including the BSc (Hons) Mental Health Nursing and the MSc Mental Health Nursing. I am passionate about supporting students in their learning to become caring and compassionate mental health practitioners. I also teach across other Health and Social Care programmes to raise awareness of mental health.

I am a trained cognitive behavioral psychotherapist and have experience of using this approach to help people with anxiety, depression, anger difficulties, post traumatic stress disorder, personality disorder and substance misuse.

I also have experience of being an external examiner for undergraduate and postgraduate nursing programmes at other UK Universities, and I am a reviewer for the National Institute for Health Research Dissemination Centre.
