About

I am a lecturer in Forensic Psychology and a PhD student. My previous experience includes working in education, with the homeless and vulnerable sector, in housing management, and working in the prison system. I returned to University to complete a Criminology degree and went on to do my MSc in Forensic and Criminal Psychology. I am passionate about evidence-led policy and practice, particularly in the criminal justice sector, therefore, my research aim is to influence this.

I love the outdoors, animals, walking, cycling, and anything that involves fresh air. I try to run a little, albeit very slowly!

I am in my 9th year at the University both as a student and a member of staff in a number of roles. I hope to continue lecturing in Forensic Psychology and once my PhD is completed, extend my research into the field of youth crime. I have a passion for teaching alongside research so, hopefully, my future will incorporate both.

Thesis title 

An exploratory mixed-methods study of the experience of prisoners identified to be at risk of or already displaying violence to self or others, in the women’s prison estate.

Teaching responsibilities

I module lead Applications of Psychology in the Criminal Justice System at L3 and Victimology for Forensic Psychologists at L5. I also workshop lead Critical and Historical Psychology at L4, and support L3 Study Skills. I supervise dissertations at both L6, and L7, on campus and online. I am the outreach lead for Forensic Psychology.
