I am a Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of Derby Law School; Programme Leader for LLM Degree Pathways; and Programme Leader for LLM Intellectual Property and Information Technology Law.

I have previously taught Intellectual Property Law on the LLB and LLM Programmes at the University of Cardiff Law School.

Also, I was the Course Director for LLM Commercial Law Programme at Ulster University Law School, and taught Computer & Internet Law; Intellectual Property Law; Internet Law & Policy; Copyright & Information Law; and International Intellectual Property Law.

Research interests

My research interests include Technology Regulation & Policy; Intellectual Property Law & Policy; Internet Law & Policy; Computer Law & Ethics; Privacy Law & Data Protection; Internet Anonymity Law & Policy; Cybersecurity Law & Policy; Software Vulnerability Law & Policy; and the Law & Ethics of Artificial Intelligence.

International experience

I was a Visiting Fellow and Scholar, at the Max-Planck Institute for Comparative and International Law, Heidelberg, Germany; the Max-Planck Insitute for Intellectual Property and Competition Law, Munich, Germany; and the Cegla Centre for Interdisciplinary Research of the Law, Faculty of Law, Tel-Aviv University, Israel. 

I was recently involved in an international collaborative EU-funded research with colleagues from Germany, Ireland, France, and Italy; and I am a member of the International Society for Artificial Intelligence and the Law.

Teaching responsibilities

I am the Programme Leader for LLM Degree Pathways, and Programme Leader for LLM Intellectual Property and Information Technology Law.

I coordinate and teach the following modules on the LLB and LLM Programmes: (a) Intellectual Property Law; (b) Information and Communication Technology Law (7LA512); (c) International Protection of Intellectual Property Rights (7LA513); and (d) Intellectual Property in the Digital Age (7LA517).
