52 new Joint Honours courses introduced

We have created a range of new Joint Honours courses including Business, English, History, Psychology and Artificial Intelligence, to help students become highly versatile and adaptable workers.

‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating for our Initial Teacher Education programmes

In the latest Ofsted report, our Initial Teacher Education programmes achieved ‘Outstanding’ which is the highest possible award. This rating is based on the quality of our education and training, leadership and management and overall effectiveness of our courses.

Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework 2023

In recognition of our outstanding student experience and student outcomes, we were awarded Gold, the highest possible rating, in the prestigious Teaching Excellence Framework 2023.

£1.2 million awarded by the OfS for degree apprenticeships

Demand for degree apprenticeships is on the rise and the University was awarded to develop new programmes that will help increase widening participation and address the skills gaps in vital sectors.

Best University Housing and Best Environmental Management in Global Student Living Awards

Our halls of residence have scooped up the coveted prize of Best University Housing for the second year running in the Global Student Living Awards 2023, as well as Best Environmental Management for our commitment to sustainable living.

East Midlands Institute of Technology opened

A state-of-the-art facility for Computing students has opened up inside the University’s Enterprise Centre as part of a regional collaboration with Derby College Group and Loughborough College.
