Civic Fund Holder Celebration

Wednesday 2 December 2026 - 10:00am to 1:00pm

Room CB410, Cavendish Building, Derby, DE1 1DZ

Event overview

The Civic Fund Celebration Event will bring together partners, fund holders and colleagues to celebrate the achievements of projects supported through the University of Derby’s Civic and Community Seed Funding Programme. The event will showcase presentations from funded projects, highlighting their impact across Derby and Derbyshire and demonstrating the value of collaboration between the University and community partners.

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear directly from award holders as they share project outcomes, lessons learned, challenges overcome and the positive difference their work is making within local communities. The event will also provide inspiration for future applicants for seed funding.

A key feature of the day will be the stakeholder panel discussion chaired by Baasit Siddiqui, which will look at impact and the value of partnership with the University of Derby. The panel will include colleagues from different organisations, who will explore the benefits of collaborative working, discuss how partnerships can address local priorities, and reflect on the opportunities and challenges involved in delivering community focused projects.

The session will be chaired by Professor Dr Rhiannon Jones, Head of Civic and Communities, with a welcome address from Susan Ambler, Chief Financial and Infrastructure Officer. Together, the event will celebrate the success of Civic Fund projects while inspiring the next round of civic and community innovation.
