First Steps at the National University of Costa Rica

The seminar would briefly introduce the context of career guidance in Costa Rica, but the main focus would be on the diagnosis we have carried out at the university and the first steps we are taking towards an institutional model for career development and employability.

About the presenter

Josué Jiménez Ulate holds a Master’s degree in Education with a specialisation in Career Guidance. He teaches in the School of Guidance and Special Education and on the postgraduate programme in Career Development Guidance at the University of Costa Rica. He also teaches and conducts research at the National University of Costa Rica. He is Editor of the Revista Costarricense de Orientación, published by the Costa Rican Association of Guidance Professionals. His professional experience also includes working in career guidance for the Municipality of Alajuela.

Andrés Meléndez Rodríguez is a professional with a Bachelor’s degree in International Trade and Business, with an emphasis on Quality and Best Practices. He holds specializations in International Commercial Negotiation and Data Analysis. With 10 years of experience in multinational companies, he has developed expertise in international supply chain and logistics. He also teaches at the National University of Costa Rica. He is fluent in Spanish, English, Portuguese, and French, and is committed to applying his global experience to academic and collaborative environments.
