About

Cassidy joined the University of Derby as a Lecturer in Forensic Psychology (AFHEA) in September 2025, after completing her PhD in Forensic Psychology at the University of Kent. Cassidy is an active academic within the School of Psychology, teaching across the BSc Forensic Psychology and MSc Forensic Psychology (levels 4-7). Cassidy is experienced in designing and delivering lectures, seminars, and workshops, and in supervising empirical research projects at BSc and MSc levels.

Cassidy is also conducting ongoing empirical research of the perpetration and victimisation of cyberstalking, examining impacts of stalking, early stalking intervention strategies, the nature and impacts of online harms, and illicit use of AI. Cassidy maintains active collaborations with police forces, charities, and the Home Office.

Teaching responsibilities

Cassidy teaches across the BSc and MSc Forensic Psychology programmes, delivering lectures, seminars, and workshops. Cassidy also supervises BSc and MSc empirical research projects and assesses BSc and MSc assignments across modules. 

Professional interests

Cassidy has ongoing collaborations with the Suzy Lamplugh Trust and the Cyber Helpline, charities which work to protect victims of stalking, cyberstalking, and online harms.

International experience

Cassidy received a grant to attend the Human-Centric Cybersecurity Partnership (HC2P) Summer Program in Montreal and Ottawa, Canada. During this program, Cassidy collaborated with academics and government partners to produce a report and presentation investigating links between AI, online misinformation, and cybersecurity.
