I am the Senior Simulation & Clinical Skills Technician for Health, Psychology & Social Care at the University of Derby. I work across disciplines in Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health.

At Derby University I specialise in nursing simulation, sensory immersion and virtual spaces to aid in alternative learning. Additionally, I manage the day to day technical provision of practical skills sessions within our core team of health specialist technicians.

Teaching responsibilities

1:1 or small group practical tutorials in various specialist equipment within our Clinical skills simulation suites for academics, researchers and students.

I have 12 years of experience across various fields such as pediatric palliative care, health care & the creative arts with child PTSD, mental Heath, severe learning disabilities and communication disorders.

My main focus across parts of my career has been aimed towards desensitisation around medical procedures using sound and arts-based activities.
