Experience in industry

I qualified as a Children's Nurse in 2011 and worked on a General ward for 18 months before moving to work in a well known Children's hospital in their Emergency Department as a Band 5 Nurse. I worked there and developed triage, resus, trauma, injury and emergency skills until moving on in 2013 to work as a Band 6 Nurse in a district general hospital in their Emergency Department.

Whilst there I completed my Minor Injury course in 2017 becoming an Emergency Nurse Practitioner and worked with injured children and adults, before moving into a Clinical Educator Role and helping Newly Qualified Adult Nursing staff achieve competencies and provided training for them coming into the Emergency Department and supporting them through COVID.

In 2021 I began my MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice and worked in the same Emergency Department specialising in Paediatric Emergency Medicine. I moved on to work in Education in 2023 due to medical reasons.

Additional interests and activities

I like to run. I'm currently club secretary for a local archery club. In my spare time I like to read and I'm pretty good at realistic animal drawings
