About

I have been a registered nurse since 2002, working in adult nursing, minor injuries and community public health. My NHS experience involved senior nursing roles as a Ward Sister, Health Visitor, Practice Educator and Clinical Academic.

I began working at the University of Derby in 2023 across the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) and undergraduate children's nursing teams. I am now the Pathway Lead for Health Visiting on the SCPHN programme.

Teaching responsibilities

I am module lead for the Introduction to Specialism (Health Visitors/School Nurses), Public Health & Educating Communities and Research Based Practice and Consolidating Specialism modules on the SCPHN post-graduate diploma. I regularly teach across other children's nursing and midwifery programmes offered at all academic levels.
