About

I am programme Lead for BSc Health and Social Care Practice as well as admissions and placement lead for the programme.

Teaching responsibilities

I am module lead for both of the programmes placement modules. This involves not only delivering the teaching but also working with our placement providers to ensure that students are prepared to go out and work in the field of health and social care.

I also module lead the Health Perspectives module considering the impact on individuals living with various health conditions. Along side this I teach on the Level 6 module Living with Long Term Health Conditions and am able to draw on my nursing background to explore with students the impact of living with long term health conditions.

Professional interests

Before moving into HE I worked as a critical care nurse so maintain a professional interest in this area as well as an interest in supporting individuals and their families who are living with dementia.

I am also a qualified ODP so have an interest in this area of practice both in critical care and the operating department practice.

I began my teaching career working in Further Education so have maintained links with colleagues teaching in this area.
