About

I am a writer who explores neoliberalism, social class and work life through realist fiction and poetry. I am particularly interested in how ideology can be reinforced or undermined through works of fiction, and the impact neoliberalism is having on the working class.

For my masters, my dissertation asked the question, What if a charity fully embraced neoliberalism? Writing a short story using literary realism, I explored how best to present a character’s ideology and people situated within the precariat class, all while interrogating neoliberalist values such as everything should be run like a business and that supposedly there are no social classes anymore.

I have had fiction and poetry published at The Loch Raven Review, Ink Pantry and Literally Stories.

I also work at the University of Derby: I am an Executive Support Officer within the Office of the Vice-Chancellor.
