The Senior Technician for Biomedical Science, providing technical and laboratory support for students, lecturers and researchers in the College of Science and Engineering.

Based in the Bioscience Superlab

Teaching responsibilities

Responsible for the preparation of lab classes and supporting students in the practical classes and providing demonstrations on lab equipment.

Supporting students in final year project COSHH forms & risk assessments and supports final year project students in the lab.

Responsible for day to day running of the Bioscience Superlab 

Neurodiversity Champion for the School of science

First aider & Mental Health first aider 

Professional interests

Clinical and diagnostic microbiology

Qualifications

BSc (Hons) Healthcare Science (Life Sciences) Infection Science - Manchester Metropolitan University

Experience in industry

Worked as a Biomedical Scientist in microbiology in the NHS for 6 years; Training completed the Royal Bolton Hospital before working in the Immunology department of the Northern General Hospital and the Microbiology department at King's Mill Hospital.
