About

I am a Lecturer in Forensic Science at the University of Derby. My post-secondary education began with a Higher National Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology (Chemistry), followed by a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry and an MSc in Forensic Science from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. I later obtained an additional MSc in Forensic Ballistics from Cranfield University, United Kingdom.

I hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice and Leadership (PGCAPL) and am a Fellow of Advance HE (FHEA). I have also completed a Level 7 Apprenticeship in Academic Practice and Leadership, receiving certification from Skills England as an Advanced Academic Professional. In addition, I hold the title of Doctoral Fellow at the Artificial Intelligence Management & Finance Institute (DR. FAIMFIN).

I have a strong commitment to both teaching and research, which underpins the delivery of lectures that are engaging, intellectually stimulating, and thought-provoking.

Teaching responsibilities

I currently serve as the module leader for Specialist Scenes (Level 6), Object Marks (Level 5), and Forensic Chemistry (Level 4). The Specialist Scenes module focuses on the application of specialised techniques in crime scene investigation. The Object Marks module explores aspects of forensic ballistics, while the Forensic Chemistry module examines the analysis and interpretation of chemical evidence in forensic investigations.

I also oversee research in Forensic Ballistics, which includes instruction in firearm examination, ammunition analysis, and shooting incident reconstruction. In addition, I contribute to the teaching and academic support of other modules within the forensic science programme.

Professional interests

My goal is to always provide teaching sessions that assist students in acquiring practical skills as well as soft and technical abilities that are relevant to societal needs. I hope to give effective lectures and practical tasks by combining current topics, pedagogical approaches, and research into my teaching style.

Research interests

My area of research covers Crime Scene Investigation (CSI), Digital Forensics, Forensic Ballistics, Disaster Management, Forensic Chemistry and Environmental Toxicology.
