The Catherine Atkinson Future Lawyers Award

The Catherine Atkinson Future Lawyers Award has been created to help talented local students take their first steps towards a career in law. By supporting first-year law students from Derby City state schools, the award aims to remove barriers to opportunity, recognise potential, and celebrate the achievements of students as they begin their journey at the University of Derby and the legal profession.

By providing financial support and recognising achievement, it helps talented local students progress towards legal careers regardless of their background, while strengthening pathways into the profession and contributing to the future success of Derby's communities.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Catherine Atkinson Future Lawyers Award, students must:

• Be enrolled on the first year of the Law LLB programme at the University of Derby.
• Have been educated at a state school within the city of Derby.

Scholarship Benefits

Successful applicants will receive a £500 contribution towards their tuition fees.
