An adjustment can only be made on tuition fees: registration fees or deposits cannot be refunded or reduced.

In order to withdraw or take a break in learning you must submit the relevant form. The form must be signed by you and an appropriate academic. It must state the date on which you withdrew or took a break in learning (if backdated, this cannot normally be for more than six weeks). If you are taking an authorised break from study, you must also provide a date for your return to study.

Break in Learning for PhD and MPhil Programmes

If a PGR student decides to take a break in learning, the annual fee will be adjusted as per the table below:

Length of Break Percentage Refund* Percentage charged
3 months or under 25% 75%
3 months to 6 months 50% 50%
7 months to 9 months 75% 25%
10 months to 12 months 100% 0%

When returning from a break in learning, the PGR student will be liable to pay any outstanding fees.

If the break is taken over two academic years, the refund and withdrawal charge will be appropriately split between both years.
