Dr Fiona McCandless-Sugg is a Lecturer in Mental Health Nursing based at the St Helena campus in Chesterfield.

Most of Kirsten's research has focused on Compassion-Focused interventions. More recently her research has focused on nature-based interventions such as Forest Bathing (slow mindful walking in nature).  Kirsten's aim is to support the spread of these interventions to improve human health and wellbeing, but also to inspire more pro-environmental attitudes and behaviours.

Dr Jane Montague
Head of Psychology

Jane is Head of Psychology within the School of Human Sciences. Her teaching and research interests are based within critical approaches to social psychology, particularly in relation to gender, identity and the use of qualitative methods. She currently teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate students and supervises a number of PhD students.

Aleksandra joined the University of Derby as a Lecturer in Forensic Psychology in February 2020. Their background is in Psychology and Forensic Psychology.

Robyn joined the University of Derby in 2021 as a Lecturer in Forensic Psychology. She has studied in Canada, the Netherlands, and the UK, and I have prior experience delivering group therapy at Ashworth High Secure Hospital.

Catherine is responsible for the coordination of the undergraduate Physiotherapy programme here at the university.

Lecturer in Psychology, Garrett Moran, has over 30 years’ experience of teaching psychology to A’ level, undergraduate and postgraduate students. He has also worked with a number of organisations identifying sources of stress and providing intervention frameworks to promote a healthier organisation.

Gerri Mortimore is an Associate Professor in Post-registration Health Care and is a Registered General Nurse with over 36 years of experience, spanning both acute medical and surgical nursing within the UK and abroad. This has given her a unique perspective which can be applied to various settings.
