Loans available from the government

You’ll be able to take out a tuition fee loan. You won't start repaying your student loans for tuition fees and living costs until you've finished studying and you're earning over £25,000 a year.

You'll also be able to get a loan for your living costs (food, accommodation and travel). The maximum you'll get is:

• £8,700 if you live away from home
• £7,324 if you live with your parents or guardians.

Applying for financial support

Apply for student finance as soon as possible – even if you haven’t had a firm offer from a university.

You can apply online at www.gov.uk/student-finance (English students).

It’s important to stick to deadlines for returning your form to make sure your money is available at the start of term.
