Here we go again? Assessing the inflation risks of the recent energy shock

Tuesday, 2 June 2026 5:30pm to 8pm

The Cavendish Building, Agard Street, Derby, Derby, DE1 1DZ

Join us for an insightful discussion on the global economic consequences of the conflict in Iran and the growing inflationary pressures emerging in the UK.

As energy prices continue to rise, this discussion will examine how these shocks can influence price and wage-setting across the economy, how the current situation compares to previous energy crises, and the potential implications for inflation and monetary policy moving forward.

Key speaker

Hear directly from Megan Greene as she outlines the price- and wage- setting channels through which energy shocks can feed into broader inflation dynamics, compares the current episode with previous shocks and considers the resulting implications for both overall inflation and monetary policy.
