The values that the university have are future focused, bold, brilliance and values people are all played out. You see this in the atrium wherever you go.

One of our values is we are future focused and the department is always looking to develop. We're always looking at the newest the newest trends.

I would say welcoming is the culture I think the university strives for.

I think what surprised me the most was how much people genuinely do care. I think there's that willingness with just collaboration and going beyond. I think everyone just wants to work together.

So, what keeps me here is I enjoy the nature of the job. It's never the same day-to-day and just when you think it's going to be, it's not.

I'm on some inclusion networks, which is great to be able to have my input and help students and staff alike.

It's such a great environment to work in. It's very flexible. Everyone is great. The culture here is great.

I get involved in a lot of student led activities that we have such as Open Days and Graduations. It's really really great to be able to not just be behind a desk and it's nice to be able to see why we are here, go to these events and see smiles on students faces.

The people that you work with are extremely supportive. If you have any problems, if you have any issues, one thing I've noticed is they're always willing to help. You know, you would never go to somebody and then they would turn you down or tell you, "Oh, I can't I can't help you." No, you would always get a positive answer or they'll direct you to whoever it is that can help you. So they have a great working culture as well at the University of Derby.

I moved from a different continent to the UK. Coming here, I was very nervous about fitting in or if I had to be someone else, you know, to kind of fit in with the environment. But I haven't had to do that. Everyone has made me feel unique and special and I've felt home ever since.
