Introduction

Al Rayyan International University College (ARIU) is a successor of the first private University in the State of Qatar, which opened in September 2000 and for more than 20 years has specialised in providing business-related degrees with a tourism, hospitality and international business studies focus. During this period the University was operating under the auspices of Al Rayyan International Education (ARIE) and NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands.

From September 2021 the institution began an exciting chapter in its existence and entered into a strategic partnership with the University of Derby in the United Kingdom. Through this partnership, ARIU offers UK-accredited undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in International Hospitality Management, International Tourism Management, International Business and International Business Management.

ARIU in partnership with the University of Derby will continue its legacy as a higher education institution of excellence and a premier provider of university level education in Qatar, the GCC region, and internationally. Enrolment

ARIU enrols students twice a year, in February and September. Students can find enrolment and programme information on the ARIU Webpage. All the students will be interviewed and enrolled according to the admission requirements and standards of the University of Derby.

Once enrolled, the University of Derby provides students with access to the University’s virtual learning environment (University of Derby Online) where online resources and learning materials are available. Students will receive administrative support from both ARIU and University of Derby.

The programmes and degrees ARIU offer are the same as those delivered at the University of Derby in the UK, and all graduates receive an internationally recognised UK accredited degree from the University of Derby upon graduation.

ARIU usually holds graduation ceremony in June. All graduates are invited to attend the graduation ceremony held at ARIU.

Introduction

Mediterranean College is a private college with campuses in Athens and Thessaloniki. The College offers bachelor degree and master degree courses in collaboration with University of Derby.

Founded in 1977, Mediterranean College is the first Greek College to offer higher education courses with English as the official language of instruction.

Introduction

The Swiss Hotel Management School (SHMS) is part of the Swiss Education Group (SEG). It is a modern, private Swiss institution of higher education, with a philosophy "dedicated to teaching quality hospitality management programmes, which meet the needs of today's hospitality industry" and setting standards for the future.

SHMS opened its Leysin Campus in 1994. The centre has been developed as a "learning resort" for their programmes delivered in association with the University of Derby. This will allow the further development of a specialist campus with a clear focus on University of Derby programmes and the academic needs of undergraduate and postgraduate students.

SHMS's overall vision is to develop an educational institution concentrating on the service delivery sector concerned with tourism and hospitality and its management at diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate level.

The University of Derby has had partnership links with SHMS since 1998. The link was originally intended to assist the SHMS develop its Hospitality Management Diploma to honours degree level.

Introduction

Shenyang University of Technology (SUT) is an engineering-centred and application-oriented university with multi-disciplinary research areas. SUT was founded in 1949, and its name was changed to Shenyang University of Technology from Shenyang Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering that was formerly affiliated to the Ministry of National Machinery Industry. Under the joint contribution of central and local governments oriented by Liaoning Province, SUT has been listed as the provincial-level key construction University striving for the domestic first-class university status under the establishment of the “First-Class Universities and Disciplines of the World” scheme.

SUT consists of four campuses, including the Central Campus, Xingshun Campus, National University Science Park located in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, as well as a campus located in Liaoning City, Liaoning Province. The enrolment of Communication Engineering (Sino-foreign Cooperative Education) has been included in the national enrolment plan of ordinary colleges and universities. Introduction

Vakalo Art and Design College was established in 1958 by a team of artists, designers and theorists, headed by George Vakalo.

The College was founded with the aim of offering courses in what was then called 'the applied arts', a field which was not covered by Greek education at the time. The College was unique and held in high esteem. Today the College's design programmes are on an internationally acknowledged level of higher education, and the College enjoys a strong reputation as a recognised leader in its field in Greece.
