Corporate Communications

The Corporate Communications team is responsible for managing the University of Derby's reputation and raising its profile and does this through press and PR, internal communications, policy and public affairs activity.

We put forward academics, support staff and student representatives for 'expert comment' on different topics to local and national broadcast media, and our ISDN line enables radio interviews to take place on-site, but with studio quality sound. Our University blog showcases academic and staff expertise, research and knowledge across a whole host of interesting topics, and is a useful source of content for the media.

The team also manages the University's internal communications, which includes the production of Inform, our weekly digital staff newsletter, and we are also responsible for producing the Annual Review and the bi-annual, award-winning University of Derby magazine.

Through our public affairs work, we look to influence public policy decisions and shape sector debate by responding to government or parliamentary consultations that are seeking expert contributions.

We are highly experienced in communications and journalism - locally, regionally and nationally - as well as in-house and agency public relations, and have scooped a number of industry awards in recognition of our work.

Awards include:

We aim to ensure that journalists get to the facts and the people they want in the shortest possible time.
