About

I am a Researcher PhD Candidate in the College of Health, Psychology and Social Care.

I am currently undertaking a funded Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology, researching about Gender Identity amongst people with Klinefelter's Syndrome. 

I have a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Psychology and a Master of Science in Health Psychology from the University of Derby. Also, I have a Master of Science in Forensic Psychology from the University of Gloucestershire. 

In 2018, I was awarded the PsyPAG Master's Award for recognition of outstanding research for my Research Project in Health Psychology: "Burnout Amongst Youth Offending Officers in the UK: An Explanatory Study". 

I am an Adult Mental Health First Aider, accredited by Mental Health First Aid England and a Suicide First Aider, accredited by Living Works. I have completed the ABC of Trauma - Practitioner - Tier 2 CPD course accredited by Rock Pool. 

I have extensive experience working with victims of crime and their families, witnesses of crime and young people who harm (young offenders). Prior to the current position, I was working as Victim Contact Worker at Victim Support, based in the Youth Offending Service. In this role, I was the Chair of the Gender Empowerment Network as part of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee at Victim Support. 

I am also a Visiting Lecturer in the School of Social Sciences at Birmingham City University since November 2022.
