Environmental Sustainability Committee

Chair: Chris Bussell

This committee is tasked with coordinating and driving the work on sustainability that takes place across the University, including our operational estate, our teaching and research and our engagement with local businesses and the community. The committee is made up of representatives from Estates, the Responsible Futures Group, and the Fairtrade Committee and includes a Trade Union Representative.

Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean, College of Science and Engineering

Professor Chris Bussell is the Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean of the College of Science and Engineering. Chris's academic field is in human physiology, with particular focus on responses and adaptation to high performance and health outcomes arising through increased participation in physical activity.

As an Associate Professor in Learning and Teaching, Dr Ribchester has strategic responsibilities including leadership of the University’s Pathfinder and Undergraduate Research Scholarship Schemes, and as Pedagogic Lead for Education for Sustainable Development.

This group work to maintain the University's Fairtrade accreditation, which we have held since 2005.

Rosemary Horry
Senior Lecturer in Environmental Management

Rosemary is a Senior Lecturer in Environmental Management. Her current role is within the College of Science and Engineering, in the School of Built and Natural Environmental. She tends to be involved in modules that discuss sustainability and environmental management issues and is currently the Sustainability Lead within the school.
