College of Science and Engineering staff

Based in the discipline of Biomedical and Forensic Science, Samantha teaches chemistry across most programmes within the College of Life and Natural Sciences. A passionate educator, Samantha is the Learning and Teaching Lead for the discipline. Her scientific research focuses on the application of analytical chemistry to real world challenges.

Mark is a lecturer on the Sound, Light and Live Event Technology Degree and also on the IOA Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control.

Aparna Duggirala is a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Genetics. Her research is focused on investigating the molecular link between lifestyle factors and metabolic health. She actively teaches in the Biomedical Science discipline.

Lecturer (Derby Scholar) in Biomedical Sciences, attached to the UoD Biomedical and Clinical Science Research Theme. Dr Edris has a research interest in rehabilitation medicine and related technology. Dr Edris has teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and currently contributes to the teaching of various modules within the College of Science and Engineering.

Dr. David Elliott is a microbial ecologist specialising in the roles of microbes in low productivity soils including drylands and the cryosphere. He leads the BSc (hons) Biology programme and teaches a variety of topics in Human and Environmental Sciences.

Mark is a Professor in Clinical Exercise Science in the School of Sport and Exercise Science and an active researcher in the Biomedical and Clinical Science Research Theme.

Federico is a Ph.D. candidate in the College of Science and Engineering. He is an aerospace engineer with expertise in lattice structures, advanced composite materials and aerodynamics.
