Everything we do is driven by delivering excellence and opportunities for our students, staff and region. From the heart of England, we empower people across the globe to achieve their potential and make a positive contribution to society. We believe that, while university is a place to achieve qualifications, true transformation comes from the experiences gained and the opportunities explored while doing so.

For many of our students, they are the first in their family to go to university and, for many people coming to events at the University of Derby, it is the first time they have ever set foot on a university campus. You can directly impact the individual life of one of our students through volunteering and sharing your experiences to inspire them or donating to bring them life-changing opportunities.

As an institution, we have charitable status, which our fund-raising activities support. We are registered with the Fundraising Regulator and follow the Codes of Fundraising Practice. We are committed to our civic responsibilities and our  Strategic Framework is explicit in its pursuit of excellence – for our students, staff and region.
