Event Promo / Dynamic Event Promo

The event promo and dynamic event promos are components used to promote a short set of events that are upcoming, for example open days. It’s intended use is for the homepage and landing pages.

The design of landing pages includes alternating left and right patterns, which can be used to create an engaging flow across a page. Where possible, promos should be stacked alternately, so that the user can engage left to right.

What's different about the dynamic version?

The dynamic event promo allows you to pull events from the central events section based on a set of criteria, where as on the event promo you have to manually add your events to the content type.

On the dynamic event promo using the query builder field you can create a query of the events you want to pull into your promo. Find the terms you want to use and click confirm. If you wanted to pull in Undergraduate Open Days your query builder field would look this:

If no events are returned from your query your dynamic event promo will no show in your published content. When previewing your content you will see an error message like:

Image guidance

• Recommended dimensions are 2000 x 1333px or in ThirdLight use 'Image embed/group/gallery 3:2' and crop images as required using the 'Constrain proportions' checkbox
• Aspect ratio of images must be 3:2, with a width between 1100 and 2000px
• All images must be optimised using TinyJPG before uploading to T4
