Kedleston Road

As our biggest site, Kedleston Road is the main student hub where students can find the doctor's surgery, Multi-Faith Centre, the largest of our university libraries and Union Social Space - the Union of Students' social space, used as a chill-out area by both students and staff. The site is a 30-minute walk to the city centre, or 14 minutes on our Unibus service.

It is also home to our newly refurbished, £10.8 million Sports Centre which doubles up as a Human Performance Unit (HPU). For those taking Health Care subjects, we're proud to have an NHS-standard hospital ward where students gain a real sense of what it would be like to work in a modern hospital. Within this hospital is a mock labour room allowing Midwifery students to receive immersive training that replicates real life.

Mock hospital ward

The NHS-standard six-bed hospital ward is complete with teaching facilities, a nurses' station, patient bedroom, patient mobility equipment and simulated-learning patients.

Human Performance Unit

The Human Performance Unit has been established to provide expert sport science services to sports clubs and individual athletes from beginners to elite performers.

Strength and Conditioning Suite

Sessions held in the Strength and Conditioning Suite are aimed at developing key skills and competencies to work as an applied Strength and Conditioning coach.

Bioscience Superlab

Opening in 2025, our state-of-the-art Bioscience Superlab and Research Lab will transform learning and research for students, staff, and researchers.
