CredAble Employer

As an employer we are committed to ensuring we fully support our disabled employees. We are therefore very proud to be the first organisation in the UK to be awarded with a CredAble Employer Mark. The CredAble Employer Mark, part of CredAbility: the Quality Assurance Programme for Disabled People, is an in-depth audit of employment practices and only organisations providing good employment practices for disabled people are capable of achieving this mark.

Martin Austin, Managing Director of Nimbus Disability and creator of the quality mark presented a special plaque to Lesley Bradshaw, Head of Equality and Diversity, at the University of Derby in August 2015.

To achieve the award the University took part in a series of inspections, audits and interviews with staff at all levels across the organisation. These audits were designed to ascertain that disabled people were not being subjected to less favourable treatment and that the University's systems were robust and geared toward equality and inclusion in the workplace.

Our Equality and Diversity team have worked with Nimbus Disability for a number of years to ensure that we are giving our disabled employees the support they need and to provide awareness training to their managers and colleagues. This quality mark recognises that we are doing a great job and gives us a framework for continuous improvement.
