About: This session aims to raise awareness of the key differences between disability support in compulsory education and higher education (HE). It will help staff in schools and colleges better prepare students for the transition to university by clarifying expectations, processes, and available support. Attendees will gain a clearer understanding of how disability support operates in HE, enabling them to better advise and support students during their transition.

About: Held at The Cavendish Building, this session is designed for leadership teams, curriculum leads and business teachers interested in embedding entrepreneurship across the curriculum. The event will feature Theo Paphitis, Visiting Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of Derby and well known from Dragons’ Den, sharing insight into entrepreneurial thinking, employability and real‑world application.

Theo is also Co‑Chair of the University’s Chancellor’s Entrepreneurs’ Club, a flagship initiative connecting students with leading business figures and industry partners, reinforcing Derby’s commitment to enterprise and industry engagement.

This session will also mark the official launch of the University of Derby's Business Teacher Network, creating opportunities to connect, collaborate and share best practice in business education.

Our continuing professional development (CPD) visits are the perfect way to stay informed about the latest changes within higher education and provide key knowledge and insights to help you support your students.
