About the days

This exciting and interactive day will give Year 12 learners the opportunity to explore our Made It Degree Show. The Degree Show is the culmination of our third-year students' time with us and allows them to showcase their passion and expertise.

Helping you to meet Gatsby Benchmarks 7, learners will have the opportunity to tour the Degree Show, as well as take part in an interactive taster session from across our Art and Design portfolio, giving them an insight into that subject area and something to put towards their portfolio when applying to university.

The event will be based across our Britannia Mill and Markeaton Street sites, the home of our Arts courses at Derby. As part of the tour of the degree show, your students will also get the chance to see some of the amazing facilities and resources that our students get to use as part of their course.

It's a great opportunity to see how games are made and gain insight into studying and working in the games industry.

Structure of the Days

The outline below provides an indicative schedule for the 2027 event and is subject to change.

Each day will be structured as below, giving your students the chance to take part in a taster session and a tour of the degree show.

10.00am to 10.30am – Welcome and Introductions (MS)

10.30am to 12.00pm – Taster Sessions (students pick one option) / Tour of Degree Show

12.00pm to 12.45pm – Lunch

12.45pm to 14.15pm – Taster Sessions (students pick one option) / Tour of Degree Show

14.15pm to 14.30pm – Evaluations and Depart (MS)

We kindly ask that, before the event, your students notify us of which taster sessions they would like to take part in. We will endeavour to give all students their preferred choices, and these sessions may be subject to change.
