Derby Theatre

As a Theatre student, you can experience what it’s like to perform and work in a real theatre and learn by working alongside professionals on top-quality theatre performances. There are also opportunities for graduates to develop their own theatre companies mentored by the Derby Theatre team.

Derby Theatre is in the Derbion Centre and has been acknowledged as a pioneer by the Arts Council, which recently gave us additional funding for a three-year pilot programme to establish a new "learning theatre" model. Derby Theatre’s vision is to stage artistically and critically acclaimed live theatre and educate the next generation of theatremakers in a professional environment, as well as providing multiple leisure and learning opportunities for Derby’s diverse community. To find out more about the work that Derby Theatre do outside of the University, please visit their YouTube channel.
