Our specialist outdoor leadership centre, Oaklands Manor, provides a unique learning environment for students studying our outdoor courses.

Surrounded by stunning views of the Peak District and only a five-minute drive from our Buxton campus, a regular, free mini bus service ensures students travel easily between sites.

Oaklands Manor, our outdoor leadership centre, boasts a range of bespoke facilities, including:

Three teaching rooms and a break-out study space
A specialist computer suite
Shower facilities and bespoke drying room for wet gear after caving and canoeing practicals
Kitchen facilities
Caving, canoeing, climbing and bush craft kit storage

Surrounding Oaklands Manor are 58 acres of mixed woodland containing specialist outdoor equipment, including:

A 30 foot high climbing wall and a bouldering wall
High and low rope courses
An artificial underground caving course

In addition, the surrounding Derbyshire Peak District provides the perfect environment for a range of outdoor activities:

Climbing at the Roaches, Stanage Edge, Burbage Edge, Yarncliff and Castle Naze
Canoeing and kayaking in the River Derwent and Combs Reservoir
The Peak Forest Canal - students can work on improvements to it with British Waterways
