National Saturday Club: Chatsworth Masterclass 2026 video transcript

i, I'm Anita Fox, I'm the Learning and Engagement Manager at Chatsworth House working on the Celebrating the Cascade project.

We have been working with the National Saturday Club.

The young people have been involved in lots of different activities on Saturday morning.

Today they have come for the masterclass at Chatsworth.

Today's masterclass has been involving following the waterways.

We've taken a walk on this beautiful morning.

We've followed the waterways, we have climbed the rocks, we have walked right across the garden to the grotto.

They've even got lost in the maze.

Today has been a trip to Chatsworth House and where we've been able to go out into nature, learn about the Cascade project, but also have for the young people a chance to slow down and lots of them have had exams at the moment so this a really good opportunity to get into nature.

I enjoyed the maze a lot because it was fun to like manoeuvre our way around and then in the middle we took a photo and there was a dog and it was really cute.

Today we've been exploring the Chatsworth Gardens.

My favourite part of probably were going around near the rocks and it was fun climbing them.

Right now I'm I'm in a relaxed experience.

I wish I had been before.

You get to walk out in nature and well, you get to actually like enjoy nature.

You can unwind, like get all your stress out and you can actually, you know, chill, like even like when your exams are coming up, mines are happening right now.

You can actually go out into nature and just calm yourself down and you'll be ready for your exams.

So for me, extraordinary for me and sometimes Saturday club is some of the closest thing that you will ever get to a social interaction for some people and Saturday club provides an opportunity to meet other people and meet them, talk to them, socialise.

This club is like a safe place for me where I can feel I can explore connections and have fun.

This gives me a sense of unwinding time and self comfort.

The club really means a lot to me because I get to go out with my best buddy.

It's a really nice place for me to have fun and interact people that I've never seen before, to make new friends and to explore new opportunities.

The club is just so important to all the young people.

It's a great opportunity for them to come, make friends, and it's been lovely working with everyone this year.

They've developed friendships, gain confidence and it's lovely to see how far all of them have come.

The partnership with the National Saturday Club is really exciting to support the young people in this Chatsworth Masterclass and for that to then, for them to see the exhibition, in a few weeks time. It's just one element of the fantastic thick partnership that we have with the University of Derby.

I just love Saturday Club. This is the best thing ever.
