Received your course offer? Now you can apply for halls

You can apply for halls if you have your 9 digit student number. You will find this number on the offer letter email sent from our Admissions team. It starts with 100. Please ring us on 01332 594111 if you are having trouble locating the number.

Applications for halls are open to all University of Derby students, whether you are a new student, apprentice, returner, international or local to Derby. When you apply you will have to pay £50 upfront to secure your booking. That £50 will be reduced from your first term's rent.

How to apply for halls

Once you’ve accepted your offer to study at Derby, you can apply for halls. Apply early to secure your preferred room type. We guarantee a room for first-year and international students who apply by 31 July.

All applications are online. You can select your room preferences, flat type (single or mixed-gender), and note any medical requirements. While we can’t guarantee your first choice, we’ll do our best to match your preferences.

When a room is allocated, we’ll email you with an offer. Simply accept it online within 10 working days to secure your place.
